Inspired by the success of El Palomar Santa Cruz, the Espinoza Family once again tried their hand at another authentic Mexican restaurant in Watsonville in 1990. They saw a need for a full service restaurant and bar, in the quickly growing town, predominantly of farmers and medical professionals.

When they opened the doors for the first time, the community came out to support the new restaurant, which created a line wrapped around the building all day. Since that day, Cilantros continues to give back to the community by sponsoring many local athletic programs and Non-Profit Organizations such as Jacobs Heart, Relay for Life and The Pajaro Valley Shelter.

Currently, Cilantros was voted by the readers of The Register-Pajaronion, as having the Best DJ, Best Cocktails, Best Happy Hour and most impressive, Best Mexican Food. We are truly proud of the product we serve and enjoy doing it!

If you ever have an opportunity, come join us for our huge Parking Lot Party on Cinco de Mayo, dance with us on Friday & Saturday nights, or come learn about some of your favorite tequilas at our famous Tequila Nights in the summer. We almost forgot to mention the beautiful sounds of our house Mariachi can be heard every Friday & Saturday night during dinner and Sunday afternoon during brunch!

In the tradition of El Palomar Santa Cruz, Cilantro's has set a standard in Mexican cuisine by combining authentic homemade recipes from the sunny state of Mchoacan in Southern Mexico, with the unique abundance of locally grown produce and fresh caught seafood available in the Monterey Bay.

We use only the finest ingredients in our sauces, salsas and corn tortillas - all made fresh daily. All of our recipes have been handed down from generation to generation in the Espinoza family, and reflect the pride of genuine family-style home cooking.
