Steps Dance Studio was founded in 2005 by Sandra Staka. Sandra worked hard to create a fun and safe
environment for the children in our community to learn and study the art of dance. She brought
together a talented and dedicated staff that is passionate about delivering the highest level of training
and technique to our dance students. In July of 2010 Sandra sold Steps to Carrie McCoid. Carrie had
worked side by side with Sandra as a teacher and Co-Director for over 2 years prior to purchasing the
studio. Carrie is committed to upholding the values that Sandra built the studio on and is thrilled that
Sandra has agreed to stay on as a teacher and Co-Director. Together they will continue to grow and
nurture this shared dream.
Steps is, very much, a family of people brought together by their love for dance. We believe in providing
a healthy balance of having fun and hard work. Our teachers know that they are not only teaching the
techniques of different dance styles, but also are serving as role models to our students. Through dance
we strive to teach positive self esteem and give each student the opportunity to shine and feel proud of
their accomplishments and talents. We work with families to create a dance program for their child that
most benefits them, whether it be recreational, competitive and/or to achieve a career in dance
